SOUTHSIDER VOICE PHOTO BY BILL THORPE Students at Central Nine Career Center in Greenwood hosted a program Monday to commemorate the 16th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on America on Sept. 11, 2001, better known as 9/11, when nearly 3,000 people were killed in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania. Linda Pfeiffer’s nursing students were among those who participated in the program, which also called to attention to the plight of hurricane survivors in Texas and Florida. “We want all those victims to know that they are in our prayers,” Pfeiffer said. The center, located in Greenwood, is a technical school dedicated to the development of the knowledge and skills necessary to prepare students for employment in a chosen career and/or furthering their education.
