The singing commenced on the shores of New Zealand and continued from country to country until it reached the shores of the Hawaiian Islands 24 hours later. Students at Montessori Garden Academy, 4141 S. East St., gathered at 10:30 a.m. in front of the school’s mural and sang “Light a Candle for Peace” while signing the song.
